Sweet and Simple Screen Printed Invitations for Your DIY Wedding

I thought I’d take a moment to share one of my favorite projects. After Dustin and I got engaged, our family started probing about all the details. They wanted to know what the dress would look like and where the ceremony would be, etc. And at the time, all I’d really been thinking about was what our lovely little announcements would look like.

We planned our wedding in 6 months, so we opted out of the save the date, and skipped straight to the invitation. After we worked together to come up with a concept, Dustin did an incredible job designing our invitations and reply cards. He has such an eye for detail and typography.

For materials, we used blank note cards and envelopes from Paper Source. We were going to buy a roll of something nice, but in the end decided to go with a precut and more affordable option. I’d ordered this awesome set of pantone postcards a few months back from Blick’s. I knew I’d find something fun to do with them – they made the perfect reply cards.

During our engagement, we received unsolicited marriage advice from everyone. So when it came time to design our reply card, I solicited our friends and family for some advice on the key to happiness. The replies we got were sweet, surprising, and something I’ll always treasure. Here are a few of my favorites:

I think the fact that Dustin and I had such a creative hand in our wedding made the whole event even more meaningful to us. This is definitely a project we’d love to repeat with another couple. If you would like to have your invitations designed and/or printed with us, fill out our contact form.
